How Fast Life Changes...

Breast cancer? Seriously? Wow! In less then a week life has changed. My breast is now the focus of all conversation & the future is hazy. Nothing is as it was, nor will it be for a while.

I will keep you all updated.

Another Wedding & Baby in Our Family

Wow married again! & what a wedding it was! Not going to try for a 3rd time to see if I ever get to have a normal wedding lol. My husband is awesome & has done a lot of adjusting from living alone to having a large, loud family!

On father's day I became a grandma, welcome Erik Lende into our clan! There is nothing in the world to describe the incredible experience of watching your grandchild being born! & of course true to our family the event was literally a family event. Aaron & Heather were there as well as Morgana & Codi. Morgana actually got stuck in a corner & also watched the birth. Cheers to all!

Michelle's Recap on Final Filming

i have not watched the show & don't think I will. I lived it already, don't care to live it again. I want to thank everyone for all the positive thoughts & wishes sent my way. It's overwhelming in a way to know that that many people can care so much about strangers! I am disappointed as I made 2 points very clear if they wanted my participation in the show I wanted the focus more on mental illness & I wanted my issues with the RCMP made very public as I know I'm not the only woman who is having the same issues with them, I feel the point on the RCMP was not even touched on!

Aaron Hello Message

Hey everyone!

This is my first blog so please, bear with me. A lot has happened in my life since Aftermeth aired. I have moved to Vancouver; loving it. My band has changed our name to "Last Shelter" and we are in the process of recording the songs we have been writing over the past year. I am so stoked to share them everyone. This is seriously the best music I have ever written, or been a part of writing in my entire life!!! We are planning to have our debut show in late March. So be on the lookout. I'd love to see you there:)

On February 4 I leave for my very first vacation. Two weeks in Quepos, Costa Rica with a few of my closest friends. I am going to be spending my 29th birthday on a tropical beach!!! I can't wait. I will surely update this blog upon my safe return home. Until then, stay safe and live well everyone.

Thank you for your support.

Aftermeth: A Family Story

Aftermeth is an intimate portrait of one family's ups and downs caused by drug addiction and co-dependency. The documentary is shot in cinema verite with the filmmaker catching moments that open a window into the world of a family affected by crystal meth use.
The film features Michelle—a mom with her own demons, and her children Aaron, Kyler, and Amber, who all are in transitional periods of their lives and become main characters in the documentary.
The story begins almost a decade ago when Aaron is heavily into his meth addiction and his mother works as a registered nurse trying to keep the family together. The filmmaker catches up with them again five years later and finds a surprising twist when the roles of mother and son are reversed and Michelle is at her lowest point of her life.
As time goes by we see Michelle's other son Kyler also fall victim to crystal meth and as it turns out it is a very different experience than with Aaron's addiction.
At the end of the day and despite all odds it is a strong family bond that gives everyone hope and a chance to look towards a bright future.
